Education is one of the largest industries on Earth. In many cities, towns, and villages in the United States, the biggest employer is a school district, college, or community college. More people are seeking higher education and benefiting from better salaries and employment opportunities, and more women are enrolled in colleges than men. Also of note is the influx of “non-traditional” students, who may consist of second career seekers, foreigners, minorities and people seeking an education off campus such as through distance education and online degree programs. Having a secure digital nation capable of advancing our country’s economic and national security is a growing trend in education.
